Western Union Projects
I was the first UX designer on the U.S. team at Western Union, I helped modernize the company’s digital ecosystem from foundational design system improvements to the redesign of core transactional flows used by millions. I partnered across multiple business lines, including the U.S. Wallet, Prepaid Card, Send2Corrections, and international apps for Canada and Mexico. My work focused on improving onboarding, increasing trust, shaping reward and promotional experiences, and delivering the motion and visual assets that shaped Western Union’s new app presence.

01
KYC and Onboarding
Redesigned the onboarding and KYC flow for the Vigo Wallet app in English and Spanish languages. working in close collaboration with Legal, Compliance, and Risk to ensure every screen and interaction aligned with financial regulations and identity verification requirements. I architected the full decision logic behind the experience including data collection, document verification, and complex error scenarios such as PEP matches or failed KYC checks while simplifying the user journey to reduce friction and build trust. This work created a clearer, more scalable onboarding pattern later adopted across multiple Western Union products.
02
Prepaid card Redesign
I modernized Western Union’s Prepaid Card experience for the US and Argentina teams by transitioning the product fully from Sketch to Figma and establishing the foundational component library and design system standards for the team. This included redesigning the full UI improving accessibility, visual consistency, and interaction clarity, while optimizing key user flows such as onboarding, card ordering, adding/removing cards, among others. Reducing friction in high-impact steps and introducing scalable, reusable design patterns, I improved overall usability, strengthened cross-team alignment, and enabled faster, more consistent product iterations as part of the company’s broader digital transformation.

03
Western Union Loyalty -Canada
I co-led the UX design for Western Union’s Canada Rewards Program, one of the company’s highest-rated digital experiences, known for its cleaner UI, improved usability, and stronger customer sentiment. Working closely with an external agency, I designed the full rewards flow logic, including how users earn, view, and redeem offers. I crafted the deals pages, reward cards, and interaction patterns across both mobile and desktop, ensuring clarity, transparency, and ease of use. My work included defining the behavioral mechanics behind claiming rewards, structuring eligibility logic, and creating reusable components that became foundational to future rewards initiatives across Western Union’s ecosystem.
04
Driving Acquisition Through App Store Visual Design
I designed the full suite of visual assets currently live on the App Store and Google Play for the Vigo Wallet app, shaping how millions of potential users first encounter the product. This included creating high-fidelity device mockups, crafting layout compositions, refining messaging hierarchy, and ensuring brand consistency across all storefront visuals. I translated complex financial features into clear, inviting visuals that highlight the product’s value while maintaining strict design-system and marketing guidelines. The updated store presence strengthened brand recognition, improved clarity around key features, and supported acquisition efforts through a more polished and modern visual narrative.

05
S2C Rewards flow
I supported the implementation of Western Union’s Send2Corrections product an essential service that enables families to send funds to incarcerated loved ones. I collaborated on the transitioning of the experience from Sketch to Figma for the app and desktop versions, elevating the overall usability and clarity of the interface. My primary contribution was designing a new rewards experience that allowed senders to earn transfer-fee waivers after completing qualifying transactions. I created the full end-to-end flow, rewards logic, and UI components to ensure the program felt transparent, trustworthy, and easy to understand for users who rely on the service for essential financial support. This work helped introduce greater value, reduce cost barriers for repeat senders, and align the product with Western Union’s emerging design system.
